The Emotion Works Foundations’ programme is for settings, services & practitioners working with children and young people at an early stage of emotional learning and communication.

Learners who are a good fit for this programme are...

  • Pre-schoolers / 3-5 year olds
  • Pupils with additional support needs (ASN) at a similar developmental level

INTRODUCTORY TRAINING 1

An introduction to the Component Model of Emotion with a particular focus on adult understanding of the Model and it’s use as a tool for reflecting on our own and children’s emotional experiences.

Also includes an overview of the Emotion Works Curriculum and progression, highlighting the need to teach and develop  emotional language as an important foundation for emotional literacy and future Cog learning.

A walk through of the Early Learning Launchpad including where to locate and learn about the resources you’ll need for staff guidance and understanding, and for introducing Emotion Works to your pupils. 

Followed by our recommended first activities & observations to help you get started with your planning and delivery of Emotion Works in your Early Learning setting, with a focus on environment and interactions.
