Emotion Works is an educational programme and an organisation that puts learning at the heart of emotional and well-being.
Our Social Emotional Learning curriculum has been developed and piloted over a 15-year period by teacher, curriculum designer and educational consultant Claire Murray, with important contributions and feedback from teachers, early years practitioners, and additional support staff every step of the way.
The result is our highly regarded and extremely practical suite of teaching resources and training programmes for anyone involved in emotional education in schools, nurseries and additional support services.

The Emotion Works educational programme is ‘home grown’ in Scotland so is very well aligned to the Scottish Curriculum and related policies such as ‘Getting it Right for Every Child’ (GIRFEC). There is also a good overlap with current educational concerns such as the Covid Recovery agenda and cost of living crisis.
We love partnering with Scottish schools and services to work towards shared goals and for the 2023-24 session we’re hoping to establish more partnerships at Local Authority level, so if you’re in a strategic role relating to Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing then please get in touch to discuss possibilities.
To help with your purchase you may find our latest package information meeting recording helpful.
All Emotion Works packages provide online training and resources to help schools, teachers and practitioners deliver our highly regarded and widely used emotional education programme.
Emotion Works membership also provides access to a very supportive online community of schools, teachers and practitioners already using Emotion Works.
Hard Copy Resources are included in our FULL member packages, with the option of purchasing extra or new resources at any time.
For schools, we offer a trial package for 6 months, or full packages with basic, premium and platinum features.
The Emotion Works Literacy Programme has been running throughout the 2021-22 school session to support schools to focus on improving both Literacy and Wellbeing outcomes at the same time since these are 2 vitally important aspects of education to get right during the Covid Recovery period.
We’ve loved seeing all of the Literacy links that teachers have been making and sharing on our social media platforms and we’re looking forward to collating and sharing the impacts of the programme with you all soon.
RECOVERY PROGRAMME
Over the 2020-21 school session we supported hundreds of schools in Scotland to deliver our award winning ‘Recovery Programme’ with significant impacts on learning and wellbeing for thousands of staff and pupils.
by Claire Murray
I’m very proud to share the news that I recently won an award from Business Women Scotland for the success of Emotion Works as a social enterprise over the course of the pandemic and for the impact Emotion Works has had in schools across Scotland as a result of the Recovery Programme.
“At our school we know how important emotional wellbeing is to learning. It has been so easy to adopt Emotion Works into our school because it helps us to value what we already do and it helps us to optimise on teaching the language and understanding that our children need to grow up healthy and happy.”
